ESQUIVIAS (TOLEDO)
Wellcome to Cervantes’ Home, in Esquivias, Toledo.
These lands are closedlly tied to wisedom, as they’ re the area where » Mr Quixote» was performed.
This book, together with «The Celestine» were the two principals of the spanish literature worldwide.
There’re many other towns in La Mancha related to Cervantes, and, in particular, to «Mr Quixote».
So, for incstance, Ciudad Real (Argamasilla de Alba, where Medrano’s Caverns, Cervantes wrote «Mr Quixote in, are located) El Toboso (Dulcinea’ s place) or the Chapel of the Listener, where Cervantes was baptised, in Alcalá de Henares. And here in, Cervantes’ Home, was his and his wife’ s place.
This village, Esquivias is also worthvisited due to some others reasons, like its elegants houses, owned by Nobility. E.g.: House of Catalina de Palacios.By the way. In Cervantes’ House, the author and wife, got their marriage developed.Another important place in Esquivias is Saint Roque’ s Hermitage.
The author was consacrated in. There’re a few beautifull paintings inside. Or even «Virgin of Milk» bust, símbol of Esquivias.
Here in the museum, the glass case is very interesting as some documents about Priest Pero Perez or Sansón Carrasco, the Bachelor, are inside. You can also see the oil and wine tins, noble people used to store their liquids in. Some of these tins were made in El Toboso.
As you can see, this house is the tipical place at that time, in contrast to modern ones. However, each room inside means a tribute to Excellency, and, above all, each ítem in the house means an aditional reminder of such a prestigious author.
